Precautions which must be taken before storing food-grains:
1. Sieve the food-grains and clean them.
2. Dry the food-grains and bring moisture up to 14%
3. Food-grains expand due to moisture, so sufficient space should be available.
4. Protect the food-grains from moisture and lower the temperature also
5. Proper storage vessel should be available.
6. Control the biotic and abiotic factors.
